The BEST Budget Walmart Gaming PC?
Walmart gaming PCs and this one is honestly hands down the best deal on a prebuilt I have probably ever seen,
So I know that you guys really like our previous videos that you can go and buy in person. So Walmart, Best Buy Office Depot, officemax, staples, etc. So we decided to kind of check out Walmart's website and to see what's going on. Well, I'm browsing the website, and I see this gaming HP prebuild that we've done some HP stuff before but never a gaming one. And it has the nice green lights and everything and well they advertise gaming. So I'm like, okay, what's so great about it. So the weirdest part is this thing has the ryzen 530 500. In it, which you don't see anymore. It's a true six core ryzen processor, which honestly ryzen and threading just go together this one, it doesn't have any extra threads.
So yeah, this thing does have a legitimate 1650 supranet that is upgradeable one of the things they advertise. Why is this so off balance, one of the things that they advertised is that this thing is readily upgradeable because I think it has a 400 watt power supply in it that is likely at plus some type of certified. So that's really exciting to see in a preview because normally they put the bare minimum power specs in these systems. But this one here 400 watts, I mean, that's enough to be able to get away with something like a 1660 Super even a 2060 if you really wanted to stretch its legs, I'm gonna 3500 A being a true six core is similar to the i 590 400 f, it's a very similar process or competes almost directly with it, because they're both true six core processors and Matt and I have paired the frickin I five and like ryzen 3600 and stuff, we paired those with 2017 all kinds of different high end graphics cards. So they're really this build has upgradability, which we're going to check and see just how much in just a second.
So it looks like in terms of ports, we have four USB three ports, a combo, headphone jack, power button, micro SD card, actually full SD card reader and a USB type C, that's a lot of i o in the front, even for like a prebuilt like most builds that you do and have something like that. And that's probably why because in the back you actually have two USB three and two regular USB and a Ethernet port ever the video out we have DVR, HDMI and DisplayPort. And both there's the power connector. So I mean in terms of IO, you got a lot of options, especially that front IO that's really impressive.
That's cool that with this build, you could have three monitors if you wanted to, which is nice. I mean, that's what we rock here. So to get in the build, it's one simple screw. It's one of those weird torques bits but you can use a flathead on it. And look at that we have a regular old 1650 Super, and one of the base model cards just a single fan card it does actually use you know external power. It looks like it comes with a total of one eight pin. Now you could technically adapt One of these SATA ports, which I'm going to turn this to that Matt can see on the camera, there is some extra SATA ports. So you could add storage, you could also adapt the SATA port to an extra eight pin. And it does look like we have an 80 plus platinum, I have forgotten that was even a thing 80 plus Platinum certified HP power supply, let's make sure that actually use 400 watts total power cannot exceed 400 watts. So we seriously have an 80 plus Platinum 400 watt power supply with some expandability. I mean, honestly, for the money, like Like I said, I mean, it's just very impressive so far. Another thing that you do have, that's kind of cool that they included that they have a Seta that is literally just on there, like it's not connected to anything. So you're ready to add a second hard drive or SSD to this build. HP really had something in mind here, making this build because they literally said this is an upgrade of a build. And they honestly weren't lying. Now, of course, with the motherboard. It's pretty proprietary, all those ports that Matt pointed out in the front, you can kind of see it with the camera back there. Those are built onto the board. This is not really a standard ATX board. I mean, you might be able to get it to fit in something else, but it's not going to work very well. As far as power connectors go. It also has a very proprietary power connector. That's the 24 pin. It is not 24 pins over there. The CPU ones pretty standard. But yeah, so long story short, you could upgrade the CPU, you can upgrade the graphics card, you can add storage, there is an m two Wi Fi currently installed NVMe SSD right here is true NVMe SSD two that can also be upgraded if you wanted to. So this thing does have a lot of expandability. We also have one extra slot for RAM, which this does only come with one eight gig stick and why is an eight gig stick only that.
single channel not good for ryzen or really any computer for that matter. So that's one thing you definitely might want upgrade 16 gigs of RAM. It's also kinda like the minimum nowadays for most gaming rigs. So you probably want to do that. But based on just matching the ram stick, you can probably take a look at and see which one it is. It should be pretty easy to upgrade. But of course at the benchmarking, we'll do some tests with the single channel and compare it to something with dual channel just to show you guys again, how much better it actually is and look at it. It's on. It's kind of weird, you know, we got some like green vibes here like team green, but then it's ryzen. But then we have an Nvidia GPU like, look at that it's working pretty well.
She is quiet. That is it was really quiet bill which I like, we make a lot of nice bills, but they're very loud. So I mean, overall, for the price, this thing is just looking really nice. The only complaint we have is the single acre stick, but I am not upset about it because every freaking prebuild we see that's under $1,000 they never want to use two sticks. Actually, light gaming is one of the few companies that after we talked to them, they only use dual channel because they realized what a difference in performance versus price it is. So as Matt said, we're gonna find a DDR for stick of RAM that matches the speed of this one. I don't know if we can find eight gigs and might be a four gig stick. But regardless, we're going to put this in dual channel midway through the gaming test just to show you guys the performance difference that you're going to receive.
So let's go ahead and test this thing in a couple games and then do that upgrade and see how she performs. All right, ladies and gentlemen, now that we have this HP, Walmart gaming PC all up and running, let's talk about some benchmarks real quick. Now we decided to test this Walmart PC in a couple of titles, those being fortnight Warzone doom and shadow the Tomb Raider, we use shadow to mirror to basically show the difference between single channel versus dual channel, we went ahead and added a nother four gig stick a memory identical to this HP system that allowed us to get well 12 gigs of memory in dual channel and we did see a difference in performance, but we'll get to that later.
Gamming Performance
But first up in a game like fortnight on pro settings, which is ultra view distance everything else on low, we got well over 200 FPS most of the time, we did it below 200 FPS here and there. And it does appear that the 1650 suver is a bottleneck in this situation. But as we mentioned beginning this video, this prebuilt PC is actually pretty upgradable. And you could go with something like a 1660 soubor and be able to use it without any major upgrades. But out of the box, the performance is really good again for only 599 for a prebuilt PC, given that this PC comes with a six core processor and a 256 gigabyte SSD. And it's readily available at Walmart. Well, I mean, you're getting a lot of good value here in our opinion. And the same goes for games like war zone on high settings getting over 80 FPS. That is well very impressive for war zone. And again, the 1650 Super is the bottleneck. But that does not mean that's a bad thing. That means you can easily upgrade this thing with the better GPU and that ryzen 530 500. We'll just keep on trucking along and get some really awesome performance, with Warzone getting 80 plus FPS in the game my call duty Cold War you'll most likely get very similar results and do stick around we will be adding Cold War to our benchmark rotation very soon, so stay tuned for that.
